The Great Snow

In December the High Desert received 12 inches of fluffy white stuff, which is VERY unusual since we are in the DESERT! It was nice, though, for the first day, then it got aggravating when it wouldn't melt! I think we just got rid of our last patch of snow two weeks ago.

Happy New Year...err...

12 days late to say Happy New Year, but better late than never. This past month has been crazy! Let's see...I graduated from Nursing School, went to Graceland, went to the Lorraine Motel, packed my stuff, mailed my stuff (18 boxes and only 1 MIA), put my stuff in the car for a 3 day drive across country, unloaded the car at my mom's house, got SNOWED in (12 inches), watched Tale of Desperaux, (cute! but the book was better) celebrated Christmas, watched Marley & Me (cute, but the book was better), scheduled NCLEX, scheduled Hurst review, studied for NCLEX, celebrated New Year's, went to Palm Springs, had an interview at a hospital, went to Phoenix for Hurst Review, and GOT A JOB OFFER!! Yes!

Whew! That is a ton of stuff! No wonder I haven't updated. I will try to get better in the future-that's a new year's resolution. That and having a more positive outlook on life and keeping my heart open to love.

God is Good!

Bad Blogger

I am such a bad blogger for not updating recently.

Here are some pictures from graduation.

I have so much to talk about, but am in a hurry to get home because I am at Starbucks sending my resume to my email so I can print them at home. Long story.

Christmas Questionnaire

1. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? Soy Egg Nog

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? It depends on the year and the present

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored lights on the tree and the shrubbery outside the house (we just have to remember the keys to the house-yes, one year we got locked out while putting these lights on the shrub). We don’t do the trim because no one in my family has the motivation to put them up and take them down.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No. In the past our kitties would have eaten it.

5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually a week or two before Christmas.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? My mom’s stuffing!

7. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Truth? What truth?

8. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? When I was little we opened presents on Christmas Eve after the kids had washed the dishes. Now and days we open them all on Christmas Day.

9. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Put the lights on then the ornaments. Is there any other way?

10. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Well, seeing as my family lives in the desert of California, we don’t get much snow. I do see it from afar on the mountains that surround the valley. It's pretty.

11. Can you ice skate? Umm, no, but I do enjoy it.

12. Do you remember your favorite gift? The Christmases where I received another American Girl Doll (I have 5 in all).

13. What’s the most important thing? Jesus.

14. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Pumkin Pie.

15. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Remembering and eating the ‘7 things’.

16. What tops your tree? Angel.

17. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving - hands down.

18. What is your favorite Christmas Song? I have four- Carol of the Bells; Baby, its cold outside; Auld Lang Syne; and Just a Kid (Kenny Chesney).

19. What is your favorite Christmas Movie? I have lots: I’ll be Home for Christmas (Jonathan Taylor Thomas always brightens my holiday), Love Actually, The Family Stone, and Home Alone.

20. Candy canes, Yuck or Yum? Yuck - just gimme the cookies.

I had a blast at the concert, will update later on. I only had two hours sleep and a long day trying to stay awake in the NCLEX review session. I am now crashing and burning. Goodnight.
