Pumpkin Cookies

I just got back from the store with all the ingredients for pumpkin cookies. I got the recipe from The Good Apple Blog who is related to NieNie. NieNie and her husband, Christian, were in a private plane crash in August and very badly burned. I saw their story on the Today Show and went to Nie's blog. I read her blog for two days straight, beginning to end and fell in love with her outlook. She helped me and many others improve their life and attitude. If you haven't heard about or read NieNie's blog, please go and enjoy her sense of style and life.

I will spend this weekend trying to be Martha Stewart. We will see how that goes!

Mean Kitty

I love this video from Cory 'Mr. Safety' Williams. I found it shortly after my kitty, Oliver, went to the big kitty litter box in the sky. The video made me laugh and reminded me more of Oliver; it helped me cope a little more. I can't wait to get another kitty when I graduate, I already have names picked out!
Enjoy the Video!

Lazy Day

I am having a lazy day where I don’t want to do anything and finding it very hard to concentrate on studying for my test. I was somewhat productive this morning, finishing a quiz for evidence-based practice and doing the mail from yesterday (down at the desk). Now, I have no motivation to study for this test. I know I should, but I am so burnt out. I need that second wind that will get me through the 39 days till graduation (Yay!). When will it come and how will I get it? Maybe when I know the plans for the future or maybe when it really sinks in that this 16 month adventure is ending.

Side note: I just installed Google Desktop and it's really cool. I have a slide show of all my pictures, a to-do list, the weather, a flowerpot that grows, and a countdown. There is a limited amount of countdowns to choose from, so I ended up choosing a wedding day countdown. Yeah, totally weird, but it serves the purpose of counting down to a very big day!

I better go (start) finish studying.

To blog or not to blog

I am an addict of reading other people’s blogs. Seriously. I have about 17 blogs that I follow on a daily basis. It all started so simply by finding two really funny mom blogs (http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com and http://www.girlsgonechild.net). One thing leads to another and you end up with a stack that you check for new juicy information. I have no idea why I started with mom blogs, maybe because kids are SO hilarious and the writing is so honest.

Once I became addicted to reading blogs I started wondering if I would be able to do the same thing. Why not? Right? It doesn’t seem that difficult. Just write my thoughts and feelings; steering clear of politics and other hard core issues (not a fan of conflict or confrontation). There seems to be only positives to take away from the experience. It would allow me to connect and keep in touch with people and most importantly it would allow me to document my life at this moment. After all, I am at a crossroads in my life. Nursing school is coming to an end and the possibilities are limitless. I have the capability and prospect of doing anything and going anywhere. It is now up to the decisions that I make (with God leading me, of course) that will guide me to the right place and the right job. I kinda feel like Rory Glimore at the second to last episode of season seven, where she is excited about what lies ahead for her (I just watched this episode this morning). That’s me-I am excited about where I am going, and in the past that would have made me scared, but now, older and wiser, I am looking forward to the adventure.

Blogging will be another adventure....let it begin!
